Trainings:

10 Steps to PositiveDiscipline is a 10 hour training based on the 10 Principles of PositiveDiscipline created by Dr. Becky Bailey.  This training is designed for preschool educators and parents who are facing the overwhelming challenges of raising children today. This training is unique because it defines discipline not as something you do to children, but something you develop within them. This training teaches new skills to the adult first and the children second, empowering both to become responsible for their own actions and outcomes.

The 10 Principles:

·      Know your child.

·      Know what is normal.

·      Be accountable as a model and avoid teaching the very behavior you want to prevent.

·      Adult’s must maintain control

·      See from your child's eyes. Is your child'sbehavior extending love or calling out for love? Are they hurting or happy?    Are they asking for information or understanding?

·      Speak clearly and assertively to children-make your parenting language effective

·      Recognize that discipline is an opportunity to teach, not punish.

·      Seek solutions, not blame

·      Communicate with the intention of love, not fear
